Bextra and Pregnancy
FREE Case Review |
Bextra has not been extensively tested on pregnant women, but as it is a Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drug (NSAIDs) similar to aspirin and ibuprofen, doctors suspect that it shares many of the same dangers. Pregnant women should never take NSAIDs during pregnancy, for these drugs are absorbed through placental tissues and have been know to cause damage in fetuses. Bextra can be used during pregnancy, but never in the final trimester. Furthermore, it is unknown whether Bextra passed through breast milk, so nursing women are advised to not take it at all.
